Taking care of a loved one who is terminally ill can be a 24/7 job. Having Hospice involved can help provide support during this difficult time. The Hospice Team is a phone call away to assist with any questions or concerns. For example, you give your loved one pain medication that had been working, and suddenly the pain medication is not working anymore. It’s been a long day and now it’s late at night what do you do? You know that the Doctor’s office is closed and going to the Hospital can be very tiring for your loved one.
If Hospice is involved, you can call Hospice and a nurse can give you advice on what to do or have a nurse dispatch to see your loved one and get orders from our Physicians to get the pain under control versus having to rush your loved one to the hospital and have them wait until someone is available to see them. Yes, even late at night, on weekends and holidays True Care Hospice is available to assist and provide support with your loved one’s care. Medications, supplies, and medical equipment can be delivered the same day, even after hours. Another benefit of having Hospice is if your loved one has a crisis such as pain out of control, Agitation, Respiratory Distress, or other symptoms causing distress at that time they qualify for Crisis Care also known as Continuous Care. This level of care provides a Nurse to be with your loved one to manage their symptoms and help them be comfortable. Our trained dedicated staff is here to walk with you through this journey and work together as a team to provide the best care possible for your loved one. For them to be comfortable and treated with respect and Dignity.
